                         dados t{\^e}m sido importantes ferramentas para subsidiar os

                         monitoramento da cobertura florestal do pa{\'{\i}}s. Nesse 
                         contexto, o presente trabalho objetivou analisar a influ{\^e}ncia 
                         da rede vi{\'a}ria na distribui{\c{c}}{\~a}o espacial das 
                         {\'a}reas de explora{\c{c}}{\~a}o madeireira e, inclusive, 
                         quantificar esse tipo de pr{\'a}tica em {\'a}reas de 
                         preserva{\c{c}}{\~a}o permanente. Uma {\'a}rea situada no Mato 
                         Grosso (MT), com intensa atividade madeireira, foi utilizada como 
                         estudo, em que os v{\'a}rios planos de informa{\c{c}}{\~o}es, 
                         derivados de imagens Landsat/TM, foram tratados por t{\'e}cnicas 
                         de an{\'a}lise espacial, atrav{\'e}s do uso de operadores 
                         alg{\'e}bricos de decis{\~a}o. A an{\'a}lise resultante 
                         demonstra uma significativa rela{\c{c}}{\~a}o entre as 
                         dimens{\~o}es das {\'a}reas de explora{\c{c}}{\~a}o madeireira 
                         e a proximidade da malha vi{\'a}ria e que a 
                         espacializa{\c{c}}{\~a}o das {\'a}reas de corte seletivo 
                         permite verificar que essa pr{\'a}tica tamb{\'e}m ocorre em 
                         {\'a}reas definidas como de preserva{\c{c}}{\~a}o permanente, 
                         ao lado da rede de drenagem. ABSTRACT ń Timber exploitation 
                         activities have grown significante in the Amazon region, in spite 
                         of efforts to control and monitor made by environmental agencies, 
                         which are seeking to establish regulations for forest sustainable 
                         use. Satellite images and data processing techniques are important 
                         tools to subsidize the processes of characterization, inventory 
                         and monitoring of forest cover in Brazil. In this context, the 
                         objective of this study is to analyze the influence of the road 
                         net on the spatial distribution of timber exploitation areas, as 
                         well as to quantify this type of practice in areas of permanent 
                         protection. A test-site located in Mato Grosso State (MT), with 
                         intense logging activity, was used, where several Information 
                         Plans (IP{\'{\i}}s), derived from Landsat-TM, were processed by 
                         spatial analysis techniques, using algebraic operators for 
                         decision-making. The resulting analysis shows a significant 
                         relation between the dimensions of timber exploitation areas and 
                         the closeness to the road network, moreover, that the selective 
                         cutting areas occurred also in those sections defined as permanent 
                         preservation areas adjacent to road network.",
